Save the Environment

Much of the harm to the environment is caused by humans and a major part of the damage is irreversible. There is an urgent need to protect the ecology. This can ONLY be achieved by changing the collective mindset from ignorance to education, and pushing the aware people towards action. Babul is engaged in spreading environmental awareness along the 3 verticals of environment, biodiversity, and sustainable development, using short videos, social media and traditional advocacy. We are slowly and steadily making progress towards a less ignorant and more proactive society. We have many eco-awareness projects lined up and we need your valuable support to realize them.

Our Solution

Awareness is the first step towards environmental protection. Our flagship program towards this end is the world's 1st Online EcoDictionary in video format. We have about 15 Facebook pages dedicated to biodiversity awareness. We are building the library for easy access to people. We regularly conduct advocacy events. Every year in June, we organize the Environment Film Festival at Hyderabad and take it to different places. We conduct screenings , eco-games and activities which include biowalks and online and offline contests. Some of our popular programs are EcoDoctor, EcoAntakshari, BioRangoli, Plastic Free, FunDuChallenge, Virtual Zoo etc., We also run a channel on YouTube. In view of the extreme hardships faced by the situation resultant of the Corona Virus pandemic, we are also into providing Covid Relief to various communities affected by lockdown and health regulations. We assisted about 3500 migrant labour stuck in Hyderabad during April - June 2020.

The relief included food, ration, lockdown essentials, travel assistance, tech support etc., From July 2020 onwards we have also included the private school teachers, street vendors, handloom weavers etc., in our beneficiary groups.
