A livelihood refers to capabilities, material and social resources and activities required for a means of living. Those in extreme need are usually socially excluded and face a lack of basic necessitates for reasons like living in underserved areas being affected with an incurable illness those in extreme need and help them with resources like food, medical care, livelihood resources, sanitation, education, etc. to enable them to lead a normal life.
livelihood creation has a huge impact on families and their income. And first-time livelihood creation for the first person in the family has a still larger impact. For instance, it makes a huge difference to the family of young people with parents who are daily wage labourers, or single parents with no opportunities to earn, when they make their first INR 10,000–12,000. This is particularly true in the case of young and women, especially those with underprivileged community, because beyond incomes, it gives independence: the power of not being forced into child labour, the power of allowing community to get educated. This is the true power of livelihood creation.”
For lower-income families, however, an increase in income does not necessarily mean an improvement in living conditions.
Adding to the problem of employment is the country’s low per capita income. And when you consider the marginalised—women, persons with disability or people from underpriviledged communities—many fall below the poverty line.
The issue then of livelihoods, whether it’s in the form of jobs or entrepreneurship, becomes paramount if we are to change these statistics. Kid life foundation trains underprivileged people and women for the retail and services sector—thinks of this as requiring a two-pronged approach of livelihood creation and livelihood enhancement.
Only with quality training can underprivileged youth find opportunities for better employment. Donate to help the poor youth get access to quality livelihood and social skills like computers, accounts, teaching, etc so that they can fight unemployment and lead their families out of poverty.

We are currently engaged in reaching out to the daily wage earners and underprivileged families, residing in Delhi NCR, with food, masks, and soaps.
With no income during the nationwide lockdown, these families lost access to the most basic necessity - food. Countless have been going without food for days and their very survival is now at risk. At kids’ life foundation, our efforts are now focused on their health and safety.
While our food kits of rations - rice, pulses, potatoes, oil, salt, and biscuits - are providing them with sustenance, the masks and soaps are protecting them against the virus.
